A qualitative study done by Hurlock-Chorostecki, (2016) noted that a hallmark of NP practice is sharing expertise across two professions, medicine and nursing. Suggesting that this results in enhanced communication and greater IP collaboration. NPs create respectful relationships among professionals, relay information through timely, open, and effective communication, and share decision-making activities to encourage a common plan of care.
